Sara Pezzini - the main character, a detective with the NYPD who becomes the latest in a long line of female warriors gifted and cursed to be the wielder of The Witchblade

Michael Yee - Sara's first partner who dies in issue #1

Jake McCarthy - Sara's second partner

Detective Patrick Gleason - Sara's third partner

Detective Lee Kim - a one-time love interest of Sara's

Lieutenant Joe Siry - Sara's boss for much of the series, Joe acts much like a father figure to Sara

Kenneth Irons - a ruthless businessman who desires the power of The Witchblade

Ian Nottingham - an assassin who was in the employ of Irons for many years, sometime love-interest of Sara's

Julie Pezzini - Sara's sister, a sometime model

Lisa Buzanis - the teen daughter of a friend of Sara's, she hangs out with Julie sometimes and tries her hand at modeling for a while

Drexler - an informant of Sara's

Tora no Shi - a yakuza assassin who comes into conflict with both Nottingham and Estacado

Jackie Estacado - The Darkness, sometime ally/adversary of Sara's

Lara Croft - British adventurer/archaeologist/treasure hunter and friend of Sara's
