Crying Freeman is the story of Hinomura Yo, a Japanese potter who is kidnapped by the 108 Dragons, a Chinese organized crime syndicate, after he comes into possession of film that shows one of their hits. Yo is hypnotized and trained as an assassin and his body is tattooed with dragons. He is given the codename 'Crying Freeman' because he can never regain his freedom from them and he sheds tears for his victims.
