About the Comic

Fathom was created by Michael Turner and saw the publication of its first issue in 1998 from Top Cow Publications. It was Turner's first creator-owned comic. Fathom ran at Top Cow until 2002 when Turner was diagnosed with cancer. After Turner's recovery, he launched his own company, Aspen MLT, which began publishing Fathom in 2004.

Along with the main series, there have been three mini-series that are part of the larger series, Fathom: Killian's Tide (Top Cow), Fathom: Dawn of War (Aspen), and Fathom: Cannon Hawke. Three one-shot Beginnings books, short stories in the Aspen series, sketchbook specials and swimsuit specials fill out the rest of them.
