Sadly, sometimes fanlistings close. I never thought I would close one, but eventually it happened even to me. It's always sad when it happens, but life goes on.
Sawa from Kite
Reason: As much as I still love Kite and the character of Sawa, I didn't
feel I was doing any justice to this listing. I tried to adopt it out and found
that there wasn't any interest from anyone else. It was adopted briefly, but
returned to me, and since I felt like I couldn't do any justice to the listing,
I closed it. :(
"Memory Motel" by The Rolling Stones
Reason: I needed to cut back around the beginning of 2006, and despite the fact
that I love this song so much, this was one of the listings I could prune. Since
nobody had joined besides me and a couple of my RL friends, I decided to simply
close it rather than try to adopt it out.
Mammoth Cave
Reason: Again, cutbacks from the beginning of 2006. Like "Memory Motel" I
decided to close it rather than try to adopt it out because of the lack of
members.
The RahXephon from RahXephon
Reason: I tried to adopt this one out, but no one wanted it and I had lost
interest in running it.
Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Reason: I tried to adopt this one out, but no one wanted it and I had lost
interest in running it.
DC Comics: Firestorm (Classic) & (Elemental)
Reason: I reconsidered whether these should be listed as separate characters.
I especially think that classic Firestorm is really just a 'version' of a
character - or in his case, two characters. The Jason Rusch run as
Firestorm taught me that one. It's harder with the elemental, since he
does have a separate personality when he's made from Ron, Mikhail & Svarozhich,
but later the elemental is simply a version of Martin Stein, so it can be said
he's just a 'version' of the three as well, since they do composite to form the
personality. Damn complicated backstory. Damn complicated.
Alexander: Costumes of
Reason: I tried to adopt this one out, but no one wanted it (including the
former owner), and I had lost interest in running it. It always felt like
the consolation prize for not getting Alexander & Hephaestion, which was the FL
I really wanted from the film.
The Legend of Huma by Richard A. Knaak
Reason: I tried to adopt this one out, but no one wanted it and I had lost
interest in running it. I could have rekindled by love for the book with a
quick reread, but I figure if I have to do that, rather than be a big fan of it
at all times, then I shouldn't be running a fanlisting for it.
