Iason is not just any blondie - he is the most perfect, superior and powerful of all of them, the one who talks directly with Jupiter and carries out Jupiter's commands.

Iason becomes interested, obsessed, and finally falls in love with Riki. He has an elegant and calm manner that hides a passionate, ruthless and unforgiving nature. For Riki, Iason is willing to flaunt and break all taboos.

Riki has been called the 'Charisma' of the slums. He was the leader of Bison, a gang in Ceres, before he fell in with Iason and became his pet.

Riki is proud, fierce and defiant, though his experiences change him and some in the slums feel he has lost his spark. He is torn between his pride and the feelings he has for Iason that he is unwilling to acknowledge.

Katze
Caste: Furniture
Occupation: Black marketeer

Katze was once Iason's furniture, but he was too inquisitive and uncovered a dark secret behind Tanagura, and was scarred by Iason and banished to the black market.

Katze is somewhat secretive and plays his cards close to the vest. He knows a lot about Tanagura, Midas and Ceres, and is someone to know when moving in black market circles.

Gai (Guy)
Caste: Mongrel
Occupation: Gang member

Guy is Riki's second in command, best friend, and former pairing partner. He takes over Bison when Riki vanishes from Ceres.

Guy is desperately in love with Riki, whether or not Riki sees it, and this turns into a dangerous obsession with bringing Riki back to being the man he knew, no matter the consequences and whether or not this is what Riki wants.

Raoul
Caste: Blondie
Occupation: Tanagura Elite

Raoul is second in command to Iason among Tanagura's elite. He is a biochemist and may be charged with altering the memories and minds of those who disobey Jupiter.

Raoul seems to have a friendship with Iason, and genuine concern for him. He follows the rules of Tanagura, and urges Iason to the same. Nevertheless, he does not force his friend, nor does he report him.

Jupiter
Caste: Computer
Occupation: Ruler of Amoi

Jupiter is the supercomputer that is the ruler of the planet of Amoi. Tanagura is the capital of Amoi, and is under the direct and complete control of Jupiter. It is Jupiter that designed the society and the caste system. It is Jupiter that controls the population and engineers the genetically perfect blondies.

Jupiter seems to look on Iason as its perfect son and favors him especially.

Kirie
Caste: Mongrel
Occupation: Gang member

Kirie is a new member of Bison who joined the gang during Riki's three year absence. He is younger and more impetuous than other members of the gang and eager to prove himself. Kirie wants to do things, get out of the slums and be someone. Such ambitions may be useful to someone, and the price may prove higher than Kirie would want to pay...
